Day 5: Branching Out May 14, 2014

Feeling adventurous? While we have offered a number of green smoothie recipes & resources for this 14-day green smoothie experiment in previous posts, we want to encourage you to dream up your own concoctions. It’s a great way to make use of whatever fruits & veggies you have lying around. Remember to use this tried and true formula for creating a 2-serving green smoothie. If you come up with something that is too good to keep to yourself, please don’t. Post your recipe along with a photo on our Facebook page.

2 handfuls of any greens + 2 cups of liquid + 3 cups of fruits/veggies

Here are two of our own creations.

the donutThe Donut
2 cups of rice or almond milk (warm property)
1/2 cooked oatmeal, plain (warm property)
1 apple (cool property)
1/2 banana (cool property)
1/2 cup berries, any or mixed
1 tbs chia seeds
1 tbs spirulina (cool property)


green monkeyThe Green Monkey
2 handfuls of kale (warm property)
2 bananas (warm property)
2 tbs peanut or almond butter (warm property)
2 cups of almond or rice milk (warm property)
Dash of vanilla
Dash of cinnamon (warm property)
